BIBA appoints Julie Comer as Head of Compliance

Today, the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) announced the appointment of Julie Comer as Head of Compliance.

Prior to this appointment, Julie served as Director of Risk & Compliance at Lloyd & Whyte - she’s worked in the broking sector for the entirety of her career.

In her new role, Julie will be responsible for assisting the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) members with compliance queries and concerns to help them achieve greater understanding of current and upcoming regulation, including via the industry body’s Compliance Forums. Julie will report to David Sparkes.

“As a broker, I really appreciated the help and support offered by BIBA […] I’m looking forward to working with members to help them achieve regulatory requirements efficiently” she said.

David Sparkes, Regulation Director at BIBA, expressed his delight, explaining that “members value our hands-on approach to providing support and guidance on compliance questions as well as remaining focused on the regulatory landscape.”

Graeme Trudgill, CEO of BIBA, highlighted that “When I became CEO I promised to invest in members, and one key investment in regulatory and compliance support. Appointing Julie with her invaluable experience and knowledge will really benefit members.”
